Reconstruction I Historical Buildings

Officebuilding in Meiningen | restoration of facade and roof

The AOK-building at Sachsenstr. in Meiningen was already totally refurbished in the early nineties. When starting our work, the facade’s condition was poor and ailing; stucked plastering imitations peeled away. The roof was leaky due to concrete roofing tiles, which were used though not being appropriate to the roof pitch.

The building out of the late 19th century was built as a bank. The facades are richly structured by cornices, pilasters and window finials. Above the main entrance at the two middle axes of the facade facing Sachsenstr. balconies are placed.

During refurbishment process the stucked plastering imitations were removed and replaced by new stucco. The coloring was in an inferior position as it was chosen (according to the agreement with the lower monument protection authority) to fit to an overall concept for the residential streets.
